ÖZYEL Law Firm was founded in 1985 in İzmir, Turkey. Our firm offers its services to both local and foreign clients primarily in Corporate Law, Family Law, Labour Law, Criminal Law and Anti-Trust Law etc.

Services

Criminal Law

Criminal Law is concerned with both tangible and intangible aspects of any crime. No situation undefined by laws can be considered a crime. Punitive action is taken only when any given act is defined as a crime under the laws. Lawyers are present when any individual is brought in by law enforcement on any given charge. Lawyers cannot answers in stead of the charged party. If there is substantial suspicion of crime, or criminal intent, the individual(s) are brought to the court. Only if, and when, the accused party is found guilty, the accused, in most cases, are arrested and imprisoned. The charged party can object to the decision in the next seven days through his or her lawyers. One of the greatest responsibility of criminal lawyer is this process. In addition to that, a criminal lawyer does everything in his or her power to prove the innocence of his/her client. With regards to Criminal Law ÖZYEL Law firm provides assistance in drafting of petitions, submissions of petitions, preparing of statements, accompanying clients during giving of statements, addressing all necessary and possible objections, requests of appeals. Team

Mr. Ali ÖZCAN, LL.M (Leiden)

Ali ÖZCAN was born in Adana in 1991. He graduated from Eskişehir Anatolian Highschool in 2009 and graduated from Law Faculty of Istanbul University with honours. In 2017, he has obtained his master’s degree with his thesis “ Do the Exclusionary Abuses need a fresh look or is the precedent still keeping up with the time?” from the European and International Advanced Business Law Master programme of Leiden University. His practice is focused on both Turkish and Europian corporate and competition laws. He joined Aksoy & Partners as a Jr. Partner in 2018. He is highly proficient in English and proficient in German.

Mr. Doğukan YELKEN

Mr. Doğukan YELKEN was born in İstanbul in 1990. He graduated from one of the most esteemed highschools in Turkey, Kabataş Erkek Highschool, in 1990. In 2016, he graduated from Law Faculty of Istanbul University. Following that he worked in Istanbul, with his practice focusing on business law and family law. He has joined Aksoy & Partners as a Jr. Partner in 2017. He is proficient in English.

Mrs. Neriman AKSOY

Neriman AKSOY was born in Tekirdağ in 1960. She has graduated from İzmir Eşrefpaşa Highschool in 1960 and graduated from the Law Faculty of Istanbul University in 1982. She has been practicing law actively since 1983. She co-founded Aksoy & Partners in 1985. From 2002 to 2004 she was also a member of the board of directors in Izmir Bar Association. She also acted as an instructor in the Intern Training Center of İzmir Bar Association. Her practice is focused in family law. She participates in seminars regarding Women’s Rights and Children’s Rights frequently as a speaker.

Mr. Metin M. AKSOY

Metin Melih AKSOY was born in Denizli in 1958. He has graduated from İzmir Fatih College in 1976 and graduated from the Law Faculty of Istanbul University in 1976. He has co-founded Aksoy & Partners in 1985 and has been actively practicing since then. His practice focuses on commercial law, criminal law and enforcement law. Outside of his practice he is also interested in photography and painting, with many of his works having been exhibited in various exhibitions. He is proficient in English.
